You will reach Giannucciu by departing from Monacia d’Aullène. This hike is quite sporty, so come well equipped. From afar, you will soon see l’Uomo Di Cagna, an enormous display of boulders, a natural guardian dominating the most southern banks of Corsica. The climb is one of the most curious, in the heart of the granite chaos with their almost human shapes. You will encounter the old forester’s house with its bread oven, as well the Presarella sheep pen witnessing the importance of pastoralism in the region.

Description

L’Uomu di Cagna is a surprising balancing rock, at 1 217 metres altitude.  This is an inevitable hike for mountain fans, as climbing to l’Uomo Di Cagna is, above all, enjoying the exceptional panorama over the extreme South of Corsica right to the Gulf of Valinco (Propriano) and Sardinia.  The Cagna massive is vast and constitutes several types of topography, from the scrubland to the highlands, passing by the pine and fir tree forests.  The return will take you on a magnificent paved path surrounded by small walls under an obscure, fresh and mysterious plantation of Holm oak trees…
